Know About What You Eat -
- Elephant Yam (Karunai/Senai Kilangu) is good source of Omega-3 fatty acids which increase good cholesterol level and reduces bad cholesterol level in our body.
- It is known to have a cooling affect on body.
- It can be made part of low fat diet as the carbohydrates in yam help in slimming and thus reducing body weight.
- The fiber content in elephant yam is naturally high and therefore, it is usually considered a slimming food, as it promotes weight loss and reduces the levels of cholesterol in the body. If elephant yam is cooked in the right way, it can be eaten without any fear of weight gain.
METHOD :
- peel the outer skin of E.yam and wash it well.
- Now Make use of any vegetable cutter and cut it in any shape you want but make it sure it is thin. (more thin, more crispy)
- To this sliced yam add salt & chilly powder as per your taste.
- Mix it gently and to that add 1 or 2 spoons of corn flour (corn flour is added to make yam crispy )
- Let this mix be prepared 20 min before cooking.
- Heat oil in kadai, drop our masala yam mix to it.
- fry it till it turn hot golden brown color.
- Serve it hot :)
