Sundakai Poriyal / Turkey berry Fry

Ingredients  Sundakai - 1 cup Tomato - 1 Onion - 2 Curry leaves Turmeric powder - 1tspn Chilly powder - 1 tspn Garlic cloves - 3 or 4 Vegetable oil - 2 tbspn Salt as per taste Steps 1. Heat pan with oil , Drop mustard, curry leaves & Garlic . Saute for a minute and add chopped onion , saute for 2 mins. 2.Add chopped tomato and saute until its soft and mushy. 3.Add chopped sundakai. 4. Add chilly powder ( i used homemade chilly powder 1 tbspn ) if its not possible for you.. Add 1 tspn of red chilly powder & 2 tspn of coriander powder. 5.Add turmeric & Add salt. 6.Add little amount of water and mix. Close the pan with lid. Let it cook for few mins until all water is absorbed .. open the lid now and then & stir .. so that the masala doesnt stick to the pan. 7. Fry till crispy fry is formed. Sundaikai will shrink nicely  Serve it with curd Rice .. Best combo 😍😍

Egg Tomato Gravy

Bored of usual side dishes??? Try this awesome easy one and have fun!! EGG Tomato Gravy Ingredients Egg - 2  Tomato - 3 Onion - 3 Homemade chilly powder - 1 tbspn Or Red chilli powder - 1tspn Coriander powder - 2 tspn Turmeric powder - 1 tspn Salt as per taste Steps 1. Heat kadai with 2 tbspn of oil , add mustard, cumin a tspn and curry leaves. 2. Add chopped onion and saute for few minutes. 3.Grind the tomato (not too smooth ) add it to the kadai. Saute until its soft and mushy. 4.Add turmeric powder , chilli powder and salt. 4.Add water half cup and let this boil for 5 to 8 mins. 5.When the gravy becomes thick enough.Add 2 eggs to it and stir nicely. 6.Let the gravy be cooked until the raw smell of egg goes.(it takes 3 to 5 mins maximum) Serve it with hoti roti or idly / dosa.

Easy Nethili Fish fry

Nethili fish fry is a mouth watering recipe with few ingredients and it is effortless :) Ingredients Nethili fish fry - half cup Homemade chilly powder - 1 tbspn . Or Chilly powder - 1 tspn Coriander powder - 2 tspn. I prefer adding homemade chilly powder for ultimate taste. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbspn Turmeric powder - 1 tspn Salt as per taste lemon juice - 1 tspn (optional) Steps  1. Clean the fish . 2. In a bowl of cleaned fish add the turmeric powder, chilly powder , ginger garlic paste and salt . Lemon juice(optional) 3.Marinate the fish for 20 to 30 mins at least. 4. Fry the nethili fish in dosa kal or fish pan you use with 4 tbspn of oil.(as needed)

Potato / Urulai Kurma

Ingredients Potato - 3 Boiled Coconut - 2 tbspn Onion - 3 Tomato - 3 Ginger garlic paste -1 tbspn For tempering Mustard, Cumin, Curry leaves, Green chilli - 1 Corriander leaves for garnish. Method  Boil potatoes and mash it . Heat kadai with 1 tbspn of oil , add mustard , cumin (i love adding cumin in every gravy dish i do ) Add curry leaves , ginger garlic paste Add chopped onion and saute for few mins. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilli  Saute for few mins until tomato becomes soft and mushy Add mashed potatoes  Add water , 1 tbspn of homemade chilly powder and 1 tspn of tumeric powder Add salt. Mix the gravy and Let it cook for 5 mins in medium flame. Grind coconut with little water. Add coconut paste at the end and cook for two mins. Add corriander leaves & switch off the stove. Serve it hot with Idly / dosa / Roti..

Egg Bhurji / Scrambled eggs South Indian style

Egg Bhurji is one of the easiest & yummy side dish for all kind of gravies / kuzhambu Varieties.  It's a combination of Scrambled eggs , onion & green chillies with turmeric & salt.  There are many verions in preparing this egg bhurji .. Some people add tomatoes & chilly powder in addition to those ingredients.But my family love this version of only onion & green chilly with scrambled eggs.  It goes well with Curd rice & All kind of spicy veg gravies / kuzhambu . Ingredients : Eggs - 3 Chopped Onion - 3 medium sized  Chopped Green chillies - 4 to 6  Curry leaves - few Oil - 2 tbspns  Salt to taste Method : Heat a kadai or pan with 2 tbspns of Oil. Drop curry leaves, green chillies and then add finely chopped onion. Saute this until onions get cooked. Slow the flame. Break the eggs & add it the mixture in kadai. Aviyal is a delightful mix of all sort of vegetables . This goes well with kara kuzhambu / vathal kuzhambu & it is also a best side for kara adai & Aapam .,.. I strongly recommend you try this cos it as lots of healthy ingredients " VEGETABLES " & second thing is its TASTE . Try this recipe.. have a healthy & fit life !! Potato fry is almost everyone's favorite in India. It goes well with any rice or even with chappathis ..Whenever we cook this fry, half potatoes will be already in our stomach before going in plate.. Before its fully cooked, myself & my brother used to steal potatoes from hot kadai in the name of taste & finish nearly half of it... ;) lol .. It's such a mouth watering dish !!! :)  Ingredients  Potatoes - 5 (medium sized) Mustard - 1 tspn Curry leaves - few Homemade chilly powder - 2 or 2 1/2 tbspn ( as per your taste ) Salt Oil - 4 tbspn max. Method  Chop the potatoes & clean it twice. Heat a kadai with 2 tbspn of oil , drop mustard & then curry leaves. Add the chopped potatoes. Add some water (not more than half cup ) Sprinkle some salt on it & mix well. Keep it in medium flame & let it cook until all water is absorbed well. அவரைக்காய் பொரியல் / Avarakai Poriyal / Indian Broad Beans Stir Fry

Ingredients : Chopped Indian broad beans - 2 cups. Chopped Onion - 2 medium sized Red chillies - 3  Urad dhal - 1 tbspn Mustard - 1tspn Turmeric powder - 1 fat pinch. Salt to taste Oil - 1 tbspn Grated coconut - 1 tbspn. Curry leaves - few. Method : Heat a pan with oil , drop mustard , urad dhal & curry leaves along with red chillies. Add Onion and saute for for few mins.  Add Chopped broad beans. Add Salt & Turmeric powder. Pour some water ( nearly half cup ) & stir gently so that salt get mixed with broad beans. Cook in low flame until it get cooked. Finally add grated coconut , mix well & switch off the stove.  Pictorial steps ~ click on image to enlarge

காய்கறி குருமா / All Vegetable Curry

Ingredients  Carrot -1 Beans - 5 Cauliflower - half cup Potato - 2 small sized Green Peas - 1/2 cup Chopped onion - 2 Chilly powder - 1 tspn Coriander Powder - 2 tspn Turmeric Powder  - a pinch To Grind  Grated Coconut - 3 tbspn Tomato - 2 kasa kasa / Poppy seeds - 1/2 tspn Cumin seeds - 1 tspn Method  Clean all the vegetables and chop it finely  Heat a Pressure Cooker with 2 tbspn of oil. Drop mustard , curry leaves. Add onion and saute for 1 min. Add all the vegetables and saute for 1 min. Add Tomato Coconut paste that you have grind-ed . Add salt Add chilly powder , coriander powder and turmeric. Add water ( as per your consistency level ) Close the cooker with whistle.  Cook for 1 whistle. After 1 whistle , remove the lid and check for water consistency . If needed Cook it in low flame for 5 mins. Serve hot with any tiffins like Idly / Dosa / chappathi / Idiyappam.  

பச்சை பயிறு தொக்கு / Pachai payaru curry (Green gram)

Pachai Payaru / Green gram Curry is a special side for chappathi. My dad's daily dinner is chappathi, he never complaints about the same kind of side dish daily but i really got bored cooking the same kind of kurmas , tomato curry for chappathi . So i started exploring different sides for chappthi & i came across this awesome healthy side for chappathi. The mind blowing fact about this Green gram is , it is considered as the healthy weight loss food and it also helps to reduce the high cholestral in our blood system.. When health factors comes with yummy dishes, who says NoOoOo.. :) Try this gravy and have a healthy life !!   Ingredients  Pachai Payaru / Green gram - 1/2 cup Tomatoes - 3 Chilly powder - 1 tspn Coriander powder - 2 tspn Cumin powder - 1/2 tspn Garam masala powder - 1 tspn Curry leaves - few Coriander leaves - few Mustard - 1 tspn Cumin seeds - 1 tspn To Grind Onion - 2 Ginger - a coin size Garlic cloves - 4 Green chillies - 2 ...

Crispy Gobi Aloo Fry

Ingredients  Cauliflower - 1 cup  Potato - 1 Big Size Chopped small FOR MIX  Besan flour - 2 tspns Corn flour - 2 tspns Rice flour - 2 tspns Maida - 1 tbspn Pure Chilly powder - 1 tspn Corriander powder - 2 tspn Turmeric powder - 2 fat pinch Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn Food color (optional )  Salt to taste Oil - 2 tbspns TO Saute  Onion - 1 Chopped Curry Leaves - few For Fry Cooking Oil - 4 tbspns  Method : Clean the chopped cauliflower and potato . Boil these two in water with a pinch of turmeric powder and 3 to 4 fat pinch of salt. Once the water gets boiled ,drain the cooked Gobi & Aloo. Take bowl,  Add all the ingredients in TO MIX section except oil and salt. Add the cooked gobi & aloo to the mix. Now add salt & mix well. Finally add 2 to 3 tbspn of oil and mix . Heat Pan with 4 tbspn of oil.  Drop Onion and curry leaves. Saute for 2 mins. Drop the gobi aloo mix to the pan. Fry till...

Kathirikai Poriyal (Brinjal)

Ingredients : Brinjal - 5 Straightly chopped Chopped Tomato -1  Chopped Onion - 1 Turmeric Powder - 2 fat pinch Chilly Powder - 1 tbspn  ( I use chilly Powder that we prepare in our home , if you dont have such homemade chilly powder then use pure chilly powder 1 spn along with coriander powder 2 spns ) Salt to taste Mustard , curry leaves , urad dhal - to temper  Oil - 2 to 3 tbspns Method  : Heat pan with oil , drop mustard , urad dhal  & curry leaves  Drop chopped onion and saute for few mins. Drop chopped tomato , saute for few mins. Add Chopped Brinjal & fry for 2 mins. Add salt , turmeric , chilly powder .  Add 1/2 cup of water. Mix well and keep it in low flame. Le this cook until water gets absorbed by brinjal masala. Finally add grated  coconut  & mix well. Switch off the stove once you add coconut. Pictorial STEPS
