உருளை கிழங்கு வறுவல் / Potato Fry


Potato fry is almost everyone's favorite in India. It goes well with any rice or even with chappathis ..Whenever we cook this fry, half potatoes will be already in our stomach before going in plate.. Before its fully cooked, myself & my brother used to steal potatoes from hot kadai in the name of taste & finish nearly half of it... ;) lol .. It's such a mouth watering dish !!! :) 

Ingredients 

Potatoes - 5 (medium sized)
Mustard - 1 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Homemade chilly powder - 2 or 2 1/2 tbspn ( as per your taste )
Salt
Oil - 4 tbspn max.



Method 

Chop the potatoes & clean it twice.

Heat a kadai with 2 tbspn of oil , drop mustard & then curry leaves.

Add the chopped potatoes.
Add some water (not more than half cup )
Sprinkle some salt on it & mix well.

Keep it in medium flame & let it cook until all water is absorbed well. (don't forget to stir in between)

Add Chilly powder , turmeric a pinch & Salt .

Pour 1 ot 2 tbspn of oil on potatoes & stir so that it doesn't stick to the pan.
Keep in low flame & fry it until potatoes get super roasted :)

Serve it with any kind of rice varieties.
