Green Curd Rice

 Ingredients  Curd - 1 cup Coriander leaves - half cup Ginger - 1 or 2 slice Green chilli - 1 small Steps 1. Grind the above ingredients with little salt. 2.Add it to the mashed rice & mix well. Add extra curd if needed. You can also little amount of milk to avoid the sourness if you planned to eat lately. 3.Check salt and add if needed. 4. Do the tempering with mustard, a pinch of perungayam and curry leaves. Serve it with spicy side dishes.

Sundakai Poriyal / Turkey berry Fry

Ingredients  Sundakai - 1 cup Tomato - 1 Onion - 2 Curry leaves Turmeric powder - 1tspn Chilly powder - 1 tspn Garlic cloves - 3 or 4 Vegetable oil - 2 tbspn Salt as per taste Steps 1. Heat pan with oil , Drop mustard, curry leaves & Garlic . Saute for a minute and add chopped onion , saute for 2 mins. 2.Add chopped tomato and saute until its soft and mushy. 3.Add chopped sundakai. 4. Add chilly powder ( i used homemade chilly powder 1 tbspn ) if its not possible for you.. Add 1 tspn of red chilly powder & 2 tspn of coriander powder. 5.Add turmeric & Add salt. 6.Add little amount of water and mix. Close the pan with lid. Let it cook for few mins until all water is absorbed .. open the lid now and then & stir .. so that the masala doesnt stick to the pan. 7. Fry till crispy fry is formed. Sundaikai will shrink nicely  Serve it with curd Rice .. Best combo 😍😍

Egg Tomato Gravy

Bored of usual side dishes??? Try this awesome easy one and have fun!! EGG Tomato Gravy Ingredients Egg - 2  Tomato - 3 Onion - 3 Homemade chilly powder - 1 tbspn Or Red chilli powder - 1tspn Coriander powder - 2 tspn Turmeric powder - 1 tspn Salt as per taste Steps 1. Heat kadai with 2 tbspn of oil , add mustard, cumin a tspn and curry leaves. 2. Add chopped onion and saute for few minutes. 3.Grind the tomato (not too smooth ) add it to the kadai. Saute until its soft and mushy. 4.Add turmeric powder , chilli powder and salt. 4.Add water half cup and let this boil for 5 to 8 mins. 5.When the gravy becomes thick enough.Add 2 eggs to it and stir nicely. 6.Let the gravy be cooked until the raw smell of egg goes.(it takes 3 to 5 mins maximum) Serve it with hoti roti or idly / dosa.

Easy Nethili Fish fry

Nethili fish fry is a mouth watering recipe with few ingredients and it is effortless :) Ingredients Nethili fish fry - half cup Homemade chilly powder - 1 tbspn . Or Chilly powder - 1 tspn Coriander powder - 2 tspn. I prefer adding homemade chilly powder for ultimate taste. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbspn Turmeric powder - 1 tspn Salt as per taste lemon juice - 1 tspn (optional) Steps  1. Clean the fish . 2. In a bowl of cleaned fish add the turmeric powder, chilly powder , ginger garlic paste and salt . Lemon juice(optional) 3.Marinate the fish for 20 to 30 mins at least. 4. Fry the nethili fish in dosa kal or fish pan you use with 4 tbspn of oil.(as needed)

Nethili Fish Kulambu

Ingredients  Nethili fish - 1 cup Tamarind - two gooseberry sized Shallot / small onion / chinna vengayam - 1 cup Tomato - 2 no. Vendhayam - 1 tspn Mustard - 1 tspn Coconut - 3 tbspn Homemade chilly powder - 2 tbspn Turmeric powder - 1 tspn Curry leaves & coriander leaves - f ew Salt as per taste. Veg oil - 3 tbspn Steps  Soak tamarind for ten minutes before starting the recipe and extract the juice. Clean fish and wash it.. 1. Heat a kadai with 3 tbspn of oil ( you can also use gingelly oil ) * Do the tempering.. * Add mustard, vendhayam , powder sombu (or as whole) , vadagam - 1 tspn.(optional) * Add curry leaves and green chilli (chopped straight -2 no.s) 2. Add chopped small onion half cup and half cup without chopping . ( totally 1 cup) Saute for few mins. Add chopped tomato and saute until its soft and mushy 3. Add tamarind water , chillypowder , turmeric powder and salt. 4. Close the kadai with lid.. Let this gravy boil for ...

Tomato Ginger Chutney

Ingredients  Tomatoes - 3  Onion - 2 Ginger - 2 coin sized Dry Red chilli - 2 Salt as per tatse Method Heat Kadai with 1 tbspn of oil. Add dry red chilli and ginger. Add chopped Onion and saute for 2 mins. Add chopped tomatoes and saute until soft.  Grind them with little water and salt. Do the tempering with mustard , a pinch of hing and curry leaves. Serve it with Idly / dosa. Variations You can try... * Add mint leaves , coriander leaves and curry leaves little fried with other  ingredients and grind it .

Potato / Urulai Kurma

Ingredients Potato - 3 Boiled Coconut - 2 tbspn Onion - 3 Tomato - 3 Ginger garlic paste -1 tbspn For tempering Mustard, Cumin, Curry leaves, Green chilli - 1 Corriander leaves for garnish. Method  Boil potatoes and mash it . Heat kadai with 1 tbspn of oil , add mustard , cumin (i love adding cumin in every gravy dish i do ) Add curry leaves , ginger garlic paste Add chopped onion and saute for few mins. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilli  Saute for few mins until tomato becomes soft and mushy Add mashed potatoes  Add water , 1 tbspn of homemade chilly powder and 1 tspn of tumeric powder Add salt. Mix the gravy and Let it cook for 5 mins in medium flame. Grind coconut with little water. Add coconut paste at the end and cook for two mins. Add corriander leaves & switch off the stove. Serve it hot with Idly / dosa / Roti..

Chinna Vengayam Rasam / shallot Rasam

Ingredients Shallots - half cup Tamarind - one gooseberry size Garlic cloves - 5 Vendhayam - 1tspn Corrainder leaves- 1 tbspn Salt as per taste. Red chilli - 2 no. Steps *  Chop the shallots , Soak the tamarind in water and extract the juice. *  Heat kadai with 1 tbspn of oil, drop mustard , vendhayam (must for enhancing taste) and a pinch of asafoetida/ hing / perungayam. * Add curry leaves and chopped dry red chilli , crushed garlic. I normally dont add rasam powder in this recipe.. adding rasam powder will give you  another version of shallot rasam taste. I prefer you to try that once too.. * Fry chopped Shallots and add the tamarind water . * Add salt. * When rasam starts boiling add coriander leaves and switch off the stove. Serve it with rice :) Know What You Eat Shallots / Chinna Vengayam 

Kathirikai chutney / Brinjal chutney

Ingredients Kathirikai  / Brinjal -  5 medium sized Small Onion  -  half cup Dry Red chilly -  3. Steps Fry each item separately Grind with salt as per taste Tempering Heat kadai with  1 tbspn of oil Drop mustard  ,  1 tspn of ur address dhal Add curry Leaves and a pinch of hing /asofoetida. Pour the grinded Kathirikai chutney to the kadai..  Let this boil for 2 mins. Add water as per your wish for consistency. I like thicky so I dint add much water. Serve it with hot dosa / idly.. :)  *********************************************************************************

How to prepare Manathakkali Vathal  Ingredients  Manathakkali - 2 cups Curd - 1/2 cup Salt - 1tspn *  Clean and wash manathakkali. *  Add salt to curd and mix well *  Add the manathakkali seeds to the salted curd and soak it over night *  Drain the manathakkali from curd and transfer to a plate next day & let it dry in sunlight. *  Evening , soak again in curd and repeat the same process till the curd completely absorbed by manathakkali seeds.  * Store it in air tight Box.

Ingredients Athikai / small figs - 1 cup Moong dhal - half cup Coconut  - 3 tbspn Tomato - 1 Cumin - 1 tspn Turmeric powder - 1tspn Home made chilly powder - 1tbspn Salt as per taste For tempering.. Mustard , curry leaves , dry red chilli - 2.no Ghee / veg oil  - 1 tbspn Steps For making Athikai Kootu 1.Clean moong dhal and pressure cook it for 2 or 3 whistles. 2.Wash athikai and cut it into half .. grind it coarsely or crush it using motor. I grinded light coarsely because my son eats it only if fig dissolves in gravy .. if we crush it ll be visible for him so he may avoid eating it... small trick to make him eat healthy foods. For others, you can also try crushing them lightly .. so that you can taste the fig separately in gravy. 3....
