Simple Sweet Bread Toast

This is one of my favorite childhood recipe. Whenever i get bored or its a snack time and + if white bread available in home.. BOOM!!!. "SWEET BREAD TOAST ".. :) :) I never got anybody's help to prepare this, cos its such a simple recipe which never go wrong !!! காய்கறி குருமா / All Vegetable Curry

Ingredients  Carrot -1 Beans - 5 Cauliflower - half cup Potato - 2 small sized Green Peas - 1/2 cup Chopped onion - 2 Chilly powder - 1 tspn Coriander Powder - 2 tspn Turmeric Powder  - a pinch To Grind  Grated Coconut - 3 tbspn Tomato - 2 kasa kasa / Poppy seeds - 1/2 tspn Cumin seeds - 1 tspn Method  Clean all the vegetables and chop it finely  Heat a Pressure Cooker with 2 tbspn of oil. Drop mustard , curry leaves. Add onion and saute for 1 min. Add all the vegetables and saute for 1 min. Add Tomato Coconut paste that you have grind-ed . Add salt Add chilly powder , coriander powder and turmeric. Add water ( as per your consistency level ) Close the cooker with whistle.  Cook for 1 whistle. After 1 whistle , remove the lid and check for water consistency . If needed Cook it in low flame for 5 mins. Serve hot with any tiffins like Idly / Dosa / chappathi / Idiyappam.  

வெந்தய கீரை சப்பாத்தி / Vendhaya keerai chappathi

This was an accidental dish actually.. I prepared this dish to save my dad from mom's scoldings ;) .. cos he bought this 4 packets instead of 2 ... :D Sooo What happens next.. Yup i was searching my best friend "Google" for a different recipe with vendhaya keerai and then i landed into a cooking blog with a recipe called " methi chappathi " . I made certain changes in that dish which added more flavor to it. Try this soft vendhaya keera chappathi for sure and have a healthy life :) Happy Cooking friends !! Ingredients Vendhaya keerai - 2 small cups. Fish Curry - This is the first Non veg dish i learnt from my mom :) It's an awesome aromatic mouth watering dish for sure. Try this meen kuzhambu with easy step by step pics . Happy Cooking !! :) Serves : 5  Ingredients  Fish (any kind as per your wish ) Green Chillies - 6 straightly chopped Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbspn full Chopped onion - 2 Chopped Tomato - 2 Coriander leaves & curry leaves chopped - 1 cup Fenugreek - 1 tspn Sombu podi / Fennel Seed Powder - 1 tspn Vadagam - 1 tbspn (optional ) Tamarind - 3 lemon sized  Chilli powder - 4 tbspn full ( here i used homemade chilly powder so i don't use coriander powder separately . Idiyappam with sweet Coconut milk

Ingredients : Rice flour - 2 cups ( as per your requirement ) Salt Sweet Coconut Milk Grind grated coconut & required sugar with water ( example 5 tbspns of coconut & 3 tbspn of sugar ) Grind well and filter the coconut milk. Add crushed cardamon 3 or 4 to this milk & mix well. Check for sugar. if needed add it as per your requirement. Method  Click on image to enlarge Mix salt and Rice flour.  Clean the idiyappam maker  Use boiling water spoon by spoon & mix the salted rice flour. Make a dough as in below pic Fill the dough in idiyappam maker I used traditional south indian idly cooker here. you can also use normal idly cooker. press the idayappam maker in circular motion . Pachai Payaru / Green gram Curry is a special side for chappathi. My dad's daily dinner is chappathi, he never complaints about the same kind of side dish daily but i really got bored cooking the same kind of kurmas , tomato curry for chappathi . So i started exploring different sides for chappthi & i came across this awesome healthy side for chappathi. The mind blowing fact about this Green gram is , it is considered as the healthy weight loss food and it also helps to reduce the high cholestral in our blood system.. Crispy Gobi Aloo Fry

Ingredients  Cauliflower - 1 cup  Potato - 1 Big Size Chopped small FOR MIX  Besan flour - 2 tspns Corn flour - 2 tspns Rice flour - 2 tspns Maida - 1 tbspn Pure Chilly powder - 1 tspn Corriander powder - 2 tspn Turmeric powder - 2 fat pinch Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn Food color (optional )  Salt to taste Oil - 2 tbspns TO Saute  Onion - 1 Chopped Curry Leaves - few For Fry Cooking Oil - 4 tbspns  Method : Clean the chopped cauliflower and potato . Boil these two in water with a pinch of turmeric powder and 3 to 4 fat pinch of salt. Once the water gets boiled ,drain the cooked Gobi & Aloo. Take bowl,  Add all the ingredients in TO MIX section except oil and salt. Add the cooked gobi & aloo to the mix. Now add salt & mix well. Finally add 2 to 3 tbspn of oil and mix . Vazhaithandu Kootu ( Banana Stem )

Ingredients : Banana Stem Chopped - 1 cup Moong dhal : 1/3 cup Turmeric powder - 2fat pinches Chilly powder - 1/2 spn OR Sambar powder -1/4 tspn Chopped Onion (small size)- 1 Chopped tomato (medium size)- 1 To Grind : Coconut - 3 to 4 tbspn Jeera - 1 tspn Green Chillies - 2 to 3 To Temper : Mustard,Curry leaves Method : Clean the chopped banana stem and soak it in water with 2 tbspn of curd. Use fork and mix the banana stem in curd water. ( this will remove the threads in chopped banana stem ) Drain the banana stem & transfer this to a Pressure cooker , add water ( 2 to 3 cups ) Add  a pinch of turmeric and 1 spn of salt , mix well and close it with whistle. Wait for 3 whistles. Once the preasure releases , Drain the Stems. Heat cooker with 2 tbspn of oil , drop mustard , curry leaves , Onion. Add Tomato. Add cleaned moong dal & cooked banana stem Add Water ( 2 to 3 cups) , Grinded coconut paste , Chilly powder , turmeric , salt . ...

Kathirikai Poriyal (Brinjal)

Ingredients : Brinjal - 5 Straightly chopped Chopped Tomato -1  Chopped Onion - 1 Turmeric Powder - 2 fat pinch Chilly Powder - 1 tbspn  ( I use chilly Powder that we prepare in our home , if you dont have such homemade chilly powder then use pure chilly powder 1 spn along with coriander powder 2 spns ) Salt to taste Mustard , curry leaves , urad dhal - to temper  Oil - 2 to 3 tbspns Method  : Heat pan with oil , drop mustard , urad dhal  & curry leaves  Drop chopped onion and saute for few mins. Drop chopped tomato , saute for few mins. Add Chopped Brinjal & fry for 2 mins. Add salt , turmeric , chilly powder .  Add 1/2 cup of water. Mix well and keep it in low flame. Le this cook until water gets absorbed by brinjal masala. Finally add grated  coconut  & mix well. Switch off the stove once you add coconut. Pictorial STEPS
