Javvarisi Pasi Paruppu Payasam

Ingredients  Pasi paruppu or moong dhal - half cup. Sago / javvarsi - a hand full. Jaggery or nattu sarkari - half cup. Coconut - 3 tbspn roasted in ghee (optional)  Cardamon - 2 or 3. Cashew nuts and raisins  Badam for garnish. Steps 1.Roast the moong dhal for  2 mins and wash them once. 2.Pressure cook it for 2 or 3 whistles 3.Mean while , boil the sago / javvarisi with 2 cups of water with a pinch of salt.  4.Heat a pan , add ghee  5.Fry cashew nuts and raisins. 6.Add the cooked moong dhal and half cup of water to it. 7.Let this boil .    Add the cooked sago to boiling moong dhal. 8.Add the powdered jaggery and mix well. 9.Stir the payasam .. check the consistency & add water if needed . 10.Finally add ghee roasted coconut to the payasam & switch off the stove. Healthy  & yummy treat is ready for you.

Bourbon Honey cup cake

Ingredients  Bourbon biscuits - 5 or 6 Honey - 2 tbspn. Vanilla essence - 1 tbspn Milk- 3 tbspn Vegetable oil - 2 tbspn. Sugar - 3 tbspn. Steps 1. In a mixer .. Add the biscuits and sugar. Grind it as fine powder. 2. Add the vanilla essence and milk and grind it nicely. (here you can also replace milk with egg .. but egg must be beaten nicely to avoid the smell of egg in cake ) 3. Add vegetable oil and grind it. 4. Grease a small cup (i used stainless steel) with butter . 5. Pour the batter into it.. batter must be filled half of the cup ..    since cake raises while baking ..   you need to give space for raising... else the batter will come outside while cooking.. 6. Preheat the pan with salt in the base. 7. Place a plate in the pan.. keep the bowl above the plate. Close the lid of pan. 8. Wait for 5 to 6 mins. Check the cake with toothpick.If its done it will cum non sticky. 9.Switch off the stove & let the cake cool complet...

Easy Sponge Cake

Ingredients  Maida / all Purpose flour - 1 cup Butter - 1/2 cup Egg -  3 no. Baking powder - 1/2 tspn Baking soda - 1/4 tspn Sugar - 1/2 cup. Vanilla essence - 1/4 tspn Milk - 3 tbspn Salt - a pinch. Steps for making Sponge cake   1. In a bowl , sift maida , Baking powder , baking soda and salt. 2.Beat 3 eggs(white) using hand mixer or electric blender separately.  3. In another bowl add melted butter , sugar and vanilla essence and 3 egg yolks. Whip nicely so that it forms a smoothy texture . Sugar must be completely blended with mix.  4. Add milk  and beat with it. 5.Add the flour to this mix slowly and blend it. 6. Add the white egg mix to the cake batter.. mix the batter nicely so that everything blend together.  7.Pour the batter to a butter greased pan . 8. Preheat the cooker for few mins. 9.  Put salt in the base of cooker. 10. Remove the casket of cooker. Dont use whistle. Place the batter...

Rava Kesari

Ingredients : Sweet Attack Db's Rava Kesari Rava / Sooji - 1 cup Full Sugar - 2 cups  ( 1 & 1/2 cup for those who prefer medium sweetness ) Water - 2 1/2 cups Ghee - half cup Cashew nuts , Raisins - few kesari color powder - 2 small pinch. Method : Roast the rava in low flame until its aroma comes out. Heat a kadai , add 2 tbspn of ghee. Fry cashew and raisins. Add water and Kesari color powder to the pan & allow it to boil . When it starts bubbling add sugar a nd then the roasted rava slowly -stir continuously. make sure no lumps are formed.   add the remaining ghee to the kesari. Keep stirring till it forms a mass leaving the sides of the pan. Switch off the stove & serve it with sweet smile :)

அரிசி பாயாசம் / Arisi Payasam - 50th Post

Ingredients : Milk - 4 Cups  Basmathi rice - 1/3 cup Sugar - 1/2 cup  Crushed Cardamon - 3 to 4 Saffron - a pinch ( optional ) Condensed milk - 1tbspn Pista , cashew , Raisins - few Method : Clean the Rice & Pressure cook it with 1 cup of milk and 1 1/2 cup of water . Wait for 3 whistles. Once pressure releases , mash the cooked rice for soft consistency of payasam or if you wish for normal Rice in Payasam .. ignore mashing step.   Boil the remaining 3 cups of milk , Wait till it get boiled. Add  Cooked rice , sugar , condensed milk , crushed cardamon & saffron (opt) Check for sweetness & pat yourself for your yummy payasam ;) Let it boil until it gets to perfect payasam consistency ( 5 to 7 mins max) Switch off the stove. Crispy Murukku

Ingredients : Besan flour - 3 full tbspns Rice flour - 2 full cups Salt as per taste Sesame - 2 spn Asafoetida Oil - 2 tbspn Ghee - 1 tbspn (optional) Method : Mix all Ingredients and make it as chappathi dough but this dough must be softer than chappathi dough(use water as per need ). Use muruku achu and prepare muruku :)  Heat pan with enough Oil (medium flame ) Drop muruku in oil , wait until it turn light golden color.

Banana Paniyaram

Ingredients - Sweet Banana : 2 (smashed) Sugar : Half cup / As per your taste. Ghee or Butter : 3 Spoon. Wheat flour : 3 TableSpoon Maida / All purpose Flour : 3 Table Spoon. Cardamom Powder : few A Pinch of Salt  Method - 1.Mix all the above ingredients without any lump. 2.Heat Paniyaram pan with drop of oil in each pit. 3.Fill the mix in each pit and heat it in medium flame. 4.Turn it and heat when sides turn brown. 5.Serve it hot :)

Rava Ladoo

 Rava Ladoo Ingredients : Rava - 1/2 (Half) Cup Coconut - 1 Cup Sugar - 3/4 ( three Quarters) Cup Cardamon powder - 1 Spoon Ghee - 2 tablespoon Cashew and dry grapes - few   Method : Take 1 spoon of ghee , fry rava for few mins . use another spoon of ghee for frying Coconut. Now add 1/3 water to 3/4 of sugar and heat it to make the thick sugar syrup. Wait till the sugar is dissoved in water and syrup is sticky .  Mix all the three in a bowl .. ie., fried rava, fried coconut and the sticky sugar syrup. To that add Cardamon powder and mix well. Now make small balls using our hot rava ladoo mix. Decorate it with Cashews and Dry Grapes. Keep it for few hours and then serve it with your sweet smile :)
